Teacher Accreditation Guaranteed

Well-trained teachers who all share the same licensure and accreditation helps a school system stay unified and strong. All Ravenna teachers are licensed and accredited. This used to go without saying. Things have changed.

By contrast, an alternative school may engage uncertified teachers to teach up to 12 hours per week.*  Whatever qualifications they may have – teaching is not guaranteed to be one of them. Virtual schools must have an affiliation with at least one full-time teacher certificated in Ohio – just one!

Why is this important?

Simply put, teacher accreditation assures quality through peer review. It demonstrates that standards are met, that all teachers understand and apply the rules, standards and best practices. From guidelines for teacher preparation through safety standards, accreditation ensures that Ravenna instruction is directed toward ensuring the success of all students – not just students who align with the interests and mission of an alternative school.
