STEM is Just One of Our MANY Success Paths
It begins as early as three years old – offering preschool students a strong foundation in language arts, math and social skills. As they grow, every student is taught that they have a job – their schoolwork and their behavior. By the time our students reach Brown Middle School, they are introduced to professions through events like My Future Day where they meet professionals across many fields.
Ravenna High School students continue developing problem-solving skills, tech and STEM training. Ravenna students take on rigorous academic coursework with the opportunity for early college credit.
Curriculum
Our IPT (Integrated Production Technologies) curriculum engages students to imagine and design new and improved products to prepare them for in-demand technical and manufacturing jobs.
College prep courses and a newly-adopted weighted GPA program help students compete even more aggressively for scholarships. Plus, Ravenna has a long established College Credit Plus(CCP) dual enrollment program.
CCP allows Ravenna High School students to earn college credits AT NO COST while still in high school.
Ravenna Schools manage the administrative processing, saving our students and their families time and money. By contrast, alternative school students are eligible to participate in CCP – but they must apply to the Ohio Department of Education to receive funding for their coursework.
Hands on Learning
Ravenna High School students are perfectly positioned to follow their own paths in a number of ways. One way is gaining hands-on learning and certification from Maplewood Career Center, where students from Ravenna Schools and other neighboring districts choose from 22 tuition-free programs. They range from auto servicing, carpentry, cosmetology, and culinary arts to hospital services, business and technology.
Ravenna students attending Maplewood stay connected to their home school friends by participating in sports, clubs and organizations at their home school.
Eligible students may also become members of the National Honor Society, Award of Merit and the Ambassador Club – all great activities that stand out on a college application or resume.
Students graduate – often with college credits – ready to work in meaningful professions.
Because of their education, Ravenna students can continue their education at career technology schools, community colleges and universities.
